I fully understand that alcohol has an affect on the brain, but I was sure I'd not had enough to drink to fully take in the experience. If you've ever been to Poechenellekelder in Brussels, you'll know what I mean. But whereas that feels like a response to the tedious little statue just outside, this feels like it's just evolved. Goodness knows where from, or where it's going to, but thank goodness it exists at all. Mercifully, it was just around the corner from our hotel and we'd already had something to eat and a few minutes rest before the evening onslaught.
A friend had 'found' this place and although we were hoping to get a bit further from the hotel before we needed a rest, it was so cold, we decided it was the smart option to meander just over the road. Thank goodness we did.

There was a couple sat at a table. I'm not sure if they were mannequins, an art installation, or if they'd just been in the bar for too long. I don't want to say too much about it. I almost want to keep it as my 'local' for my next visit.
